"Turbol" Canyon

This Saturday was kicked off really early. Aiden, Nicky, and I woke up at 6:30 to get ready for a bike ride up Turnbull! It's weird though because when I tell my body I need to wake up, I wake up at least 5 minutes before my alarm. It's always sweet and I'm never as tired when my body does it on its own. Anyway, we woke up, made a quick smoothie, got ready, and took off.

It was pretty chilly at first, but as we got up to the base of the mountain it got nicer. Nicky and I were expecting it to be like a Lord of the Rings adventure but it seriously took us about 30 minutes to get to the top. On the way up we saw some 50 year old asian guy in a fast car zoom up and down about 5 times. I personally believe he was on some sort of drugs and had not slept all night. That's just my theory though.

Near the top, we got some sweet photos and then went down the other side to get Julian! Aiden pooped at his house and then all 4 of us took Colima back into Whittier. That hill is really fun. If you catch the green light at Mar Vista you can coast through the whole thing.

For breakfast we went to Panera and got bagels. The CINNAMON CRUNCH BAGEL is the best bagel I've ever had in my entire life. I will for sure be going more often. We cruised back to Aiden's after that and got my stuff to go home.

All in all, it was a really sick morning. Biking is amazing and I seriously don't ever plan on getting tired of it. I love it!

Give Me Novacaine..

I am currently typing with complete lack of feeling in the lower left half of of my face. Not that it has any effect on my ability to type, but I just thought I would blog about it.

I went to the dentist this morning and found that i had 7 cavities. Yes.. SE-VEN. WTF? Anyway, he gave me a double shot and went to work on half of em. I get the same thing every time I go there, which is, "You should be flossing more often." ...and I'm not gonna lie, I don't floss as much as I really should. It's so easy to forget about it. But come on, does everyone really floss religiously each day? There is barely even any commercials on TV about flossing. I guess big brother has done a bad job about teaching my generation and I about it.

Floss was always the tooth brush's fat side-kick on every cartoon. Sometime he/she/it was just an inanimate object that the tooth brush used to lasso the cavities.. Alls I'm saying is I didn't realize how important it really was. I know now that if I don't want to be drilled on anymore that flossing more often would be a good idea.

Now that I think of it actually, I really saw floss as an alternative to toothpicks.. hahahah wow.

As I sign off, I'm going to attempt to drink some coffee and get some reading in. I gotta finish this book before friday because thats when the movie comes out and I'm pretty stoked on it. (the movie/book is CHOKE)

PEACE!

Jacket Weather..

I'm really feelin' the sudden change in weather. It's pretty cool how it literally 180'd in less than a week. I hope its not just a fart in nature though.. It better stay like this, or I'll.. I'll... WRITE A LETTER! A VERY STERN LETTER!

It's time to dust off my hoodies and start drinking hot coffee again.

WHOS WITH ME?

One reason among millions..

Isn't it so sick how one album or just one song can be the soundtrack to a chapter in your life?

It can bring you back that month or few weeks where you first discovered it and from there on out, every time you listen you get sucked back in time.

It's like I'm Michael J. Fox and my iPod is my Delorean. EXACTLY like that.
Well, this just one reason among millions on why music is amazing.

The Coffee Bean and ME.

In the last few months, I've been strolling to The Coffee Bean for all of my caffeinated desires.. In this time I realized that this place completely tears apart Starbucks. Everything from their Coffee, Espresso, Ice Blended Drinks and Teas completely one.. no ,ten-ups Starbuck's equivalents.

The atmosphere is way more mature and calm. Starbucks just feels so cookie-cutter, corporate, fast food, steril, and many other things. Their "baristas" only have to press a button for espresso and a machine does it all. How lame. The Bean just seems so much more genuine. Its obviously also corporate, but not as corporate. haha..

..This might not be that lame to you. I might be the lame one, but I seriously like coffee A LOT. I know a lot about it and maybe if I ever have the money, I'll open a coffee shop. A REAL ONE.

That'll be the day.

What do you stand for?

Today, I had a lot of time to think. I came home and wrote this in my journal..

09/02/08 1:26 PM
"I want to stand for something. Be it God, Humans, Animals, Law, Government.. Anything. Well, not necessarily anything at all. It has to be something I feel strongly about and can really relate to. I don't want to be another apathetic young teenager. An AMERICAN. I want to believe in something because I look around me every day and all I see is iPods and big rims.. Hair-Dos and Venti Lates.. Don't get me wrong though, anyone can enjoy these things but it seems that this is all my generation cares about. I don't want to be consumed by consumerism. Every day people would rather watch reality tv than inform themselves on whats happening in our world. I'm not saying I'm not guilty, but at least I can acknowledge it. I'm not going to be a blind sheep. I have to become active and keep learning everything I can."

Basically, I'm sick of not caring. I want to know why things are the way they are.. I don't want to live and die. I want to live for something.

Maybe I sound dumb, but It's my blog and its what I've been thinking about latley.

been a while..

It's been a while since I've blogged, but that's because i don't even know who reads it! I'll post anyway for the people who creep and don't comment. I actually don't have much to at this moment besides that I have a big show coming up on Wednesday, September 10. Who cares if you have school, because I have a show! COME.

We've NEVER played Chain before and that place is really sick.
We'll have NEW merch and everything.. GO OR DIE. (MUSICALLY, THAT IS..)

New Jersey Beard-off.

Things are going pretty sweet here in Joizy...
I finished my bass tracks already so I guess I have a lot of Family Guy, Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Office to watch. The songs are going to be pretty sick and I can't wait to finish and get this album out because it's been way too long of a wait. We have about 2 weeks left here at the studio and until then I am dedicated to not shaving and grubbin' on some Dunkin Donuts. w00t.

COFFEE, BAWLS, AND REDBULL.
it keeps us going.

Shipping off..

As of Monday, July 7, we will be leaving to New Jersey for round 2 of writing. I'm stoked to get busy again but at the same time kind of distraught because I'll be gone until the 30th. July is THE Summer month where everything crazy and fun happens. Oh well, I guess I'll have to party with these guys..

Don't have too much fun without me California.
...cause if you do... ... ... I won't really do anything.. GOT IT?

I'm Free! Lets blow something up!

Have you noticed that the 4th of July is a lot like Christmas?
No one really knows what its really about anymore.. and no one really cares either.

I'm not trying to preach or anything cause all I REALLY want to do is make bombs from picolo-petes and shoot sky rockets at my friends. You know what I'm talking about though.. if you ask a little American, capitalistic, consumer, modern raised kid what 4th of July is all about, he'll tell you its all about the fire works. Same thing with Christmas. It's all about the presents and Santa Clause. This is just an observation though.

Oh well, It's all good..

BTW, Who saw Wall-E? That movie pretty much ruled, but it had a pretty scary undertone. I don't want to get fat and live on a hoover chair. DO YOU?

I wish I was in college..

We've (as in The Dares) been in LA all this week and on Monday we went to a ramen place for lunch. The portions were massive and it was probably the best food on earth. ..or in that area.

If "best food on earth" doesn't do it for you on describing greatness, then just imagine if Cup'o'Noodles was an ugly little house and that weirdo from Extreme Makeover Home Edition came, tore it down, and built the Playboy Mansion where that shack used to be. This is how great this ramen was. Makes me wish I was back in my college days..

Here are some before and afters..

(I didn't even scratch the surface)

YO.

Hey..
This is my new blog. I've never done this before, but I think I'll talk about things like my band, my life, stuff, and other stuff. I'm pretty much saying that this is going to start slow and by the time I learn the blogging ropes I will have created a superlative online machine with followers from across the globe who are dedicated enough to follow my every command.

Sound good?
Good, because I know best.
